World-renowned ABBA tribute act bringing a night of glitter and classic hits to The Pavilion Theatre.
Björn Again are playing The Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 4 April 2027, as part of their UK tour. They're an ABBA tribute act, and the Glasgow date is one of many they're taking across the country.
There's a bit of history to them that goes beyond the usual cover band story. They call themselves the original Australian ABBA homage, and the numbers back up the claim: they've played more than 5,800 times across 78 countries over 39 years. The show was started by Rod Stephen, who was working in metallurgical research when he decided to switch careers at 29. He'd been inspired by the New Zealand band Split Enz, and from there he set out to revive the music and fashion of the 1970s, with ABBA as his focus. It's a long way from a lab in Australia to a stage in Glasgow, but that's how it started.
They've earned a fair bit of credit along the way, too. Björn Ulvaeus himself has acknowledged the show as the one that single-handedly initiated the ABBA revival of the late 1980s and early 1990s, and it's widely cited as the most popular and successful tribute act of its kind. So, when you see them, you're seeing the show that helped bring the whole thing back into the public consciousness.
