A comedy play by Des Dillon that explores football, friendship and family, with commentary from Scottish football legends and broadcasters.
Billy & Tim - The Widescreen Edition returns to The Pavilion Theatre on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, with a Saturday matinee added in. It's Des Dillon's award-winning play, and this particular version turns it into something a bit different from a standard stage production.
The play runs on stage as usual, but there's a commentary team of Scottish football's best-known voices watching from the sidelines. They chip in with unscripted analysis, predictions, stories and reactions as the action unfolds, so no two performances end up the same. The whole thing is billed as 'Bigger and Better Than Ever' and described as explosive, hilarious and thought-provoking.
On the surface it's a comedy about football, friendship and family, but it goes deeper than that, working as a sharp exploration of bigotry, identity and sectarianism. The cast brings together Old Firm legends Mark Hateley, Jackie McNamara, Charlie Miller and Simon Donnelly, alongside broadcasters Rob Maclean and David Tanner, and TikTok star Hawaii Fivo.

It's a fitting spot for it, too. The Pavilion Theatre opened on 29 February 1904 as the Pavilion Theatre of Varieties and is now a category A listed building, with a French Renaissance terracotta frontage and Rococo plasterwork inside. It's been the home of Glasgow's long-running pantomime since 1920 and has hosted stars like Marie Lloyd, Harry Lauder and a then-unknown Charlie Chaplin. The show runs at 7.30pm on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday 24, and tickets start from Β£36.50.
