Big Truck, a Philadelphia jazz ensemble, head out on their first ever tour with a show at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.
Big Truck play King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Friday 12 February 2027, their first ever tour. The Glasgow date is part of their Midday at the middleway run, and it's the first time they've taken the show on the road.
Fronting the sound is Laurie Vincent, who you might recognise from the raw intensity of Soft Play. Here he trades abrasion for atmosphere, with songs that move between indie-pop melody, cinematic sweep and offbeat charm. He formed the band alongside longtime friend Sam Coppins and a tight-knit group of players, and together they blend jangled hooks reminiscent of The Cure and The Smiths with richer, widescreen textures. The lyrics are candid, wry and deeply human.
It's a sound that sits in a particular pocket of indie rock — melodic and hooky, but with a wider, more atmospheric reach than a standard guitar band. The Midday at the middleway tour is their first time out on the road, so this is one of the first chances to hear it live.
