Singer-songwriter Ben Folds performs live as part of his Paper Airplane Request Tour, with Lindsey Kraft.
Ben Folds plays The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 15 November, as part of his Paper Airplane Request Tour. He'll be joined by Lindsey Kraft, so there's a support act to warm things up before he takes over.
If you're not familiar with him, Folds is an Emmy-nominated, multi-platinum American singer-songwriter with a career that's hard to pin to one spot. He started out with the pop of Ben Folds Five, moved into solo albums, put out a holiday record, and has a long list of collaborations. He still tours as a pop artist, but he also plays with some of the world's great symphony orchestras. For eight years, he was the first Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, a role he stepped down from when Donald Trump took over the Center.
There's more to him than just the music, too. He's a New York Times best-selling author and writes for film, TV and theatre, including original songs for the animated Peanuts specials on Apple TV. In 2022 he launched Keys For Kids, a North Carolina charity that provides funds and keyboards to nonprofits offering free or affordable piano lessons to children from economically disadvantaged households. He's been campaigning for arts funding, music education and music therapy for over 15 years.
