A festive market with over 30 local traders selling festive goodies, homeware and jewellery at the Barras Art and Design Centre.
BAaD is hosting its Festive Market on Wednesday 2 December, starting at 6pm. It's part of the wider BAaD Christmas Markets, and the indoor courtyard will be filled with more than 25 local traders selling festive goodies, homeware and jewellery. The backyard will be open for festive food, drinks and live music, so it's a night that works as a proper shop or as a place to hang out with a drink in hand.
If you've never been, Barras Art and Design (BAaD) is a venue, studio, retail space and creative hub in the heart of Glasgow's Barras Market. It's a distinctive building with a covered courtyard and a glazed roof held up by pink steel arches, and inside you'll find a tropical courtyard oasis, a floating restaurant and a sun-trapped container yard. It's run by The Calton Taproom and houses a stable of homegrown artists — jewellery makers, retro furniture restorers, photographers and designers — alongside the BAaD Cafe, which serves locally sourced food and home baking. The centre programmes events year round, from parties, weddings, gigs and comedy nights to exhibitions, fashion shows and conferences, and it plays host to a craft fair every Saturday and Sunday.

The festive market is one of the highlights of the Christmas season here, with the courtyard filling with those local vendors and the backyard open for food, drinks and live music. It's a good spot to pick up gifts from Glasgow makers rather than the usual high street, and the live music in the yard means you can make an evening of it. The market opens at 6pm on Wednesday 2 December at Barras Art and Design Centre, 54 Calton Entry, Glasgow East End, G40 2SB.
