Relaxed evening with James Yorkston at his shop, with a Q&A, drinks, a few songs and signed copies of his novel.
James Yorkston is dropping by 1 of 100 on Thursday 29 October, from 7 to 9pm. It's not a gig in the usual sense, but a night built around his latest novel, Callum, Reine, Sylvie And Sparrow. He'll be there to talk about the book, share a few drinks, and play a handful of songs.
The evening is described as relaxed, intimate and informal. It starts with a Q&A that runs for around 40 minutes, and from there it opens up into time to chat and mingle. There's no physical ticket to hold onto, just a list on the door, and signed copies of the novel will be available on the night.
For those who know Yorkston mainly for his music, this is a chance to see him on the other side of the page. The focus is the book, and the songs sit alongside the conversation rather than taking over. It's a small-scale affair in a bookshop, so the whole thing stays close to the ground.
