A daytime rock and metal party featuring pop-punk, emo, nu-metal and glam metal hits, aimed at over-30s.
An Afternoon of Rock comes to The Record Factory on Saturday 21 November, a daytime party aimed squarely at over-30s. It's a DJ-led afternoon rather than a live gig, and it arrives in Glasgow after selling out events in London, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool and Birmingham. The Glasgow date is one of eight concerts on the tour, so it's a stop on a wider run of dates rather than a one-off.
The music runs across the decades, mixing well-known rock and glam metal with pop-punk, grunge and nu-metal hits. It's a broad sweep of the heavier side of things from a few different eras, so you'll hear the big rock and metal tracks alongside the pop-punk and nu-metal that defined later years. The whole thing is geared towards a crowd that's a bit older, with the over-30s focus right at the front of it.
Because it's an afternoon session, the timing is a bit different from your usual night out. It runs from 3pm to 7pm, so it wraps up early in the evening. That leaves the rest of your Saturday free to hit the local bars around the West End if you fancy keeping the day going. It's a good one if you're not in the mood for a late one, or if you'd rather have your evening open.

It's free to attend, and it's held at The Record Factory, 17 Byres Road, Glasgow West End G11 5RD. With the 3pm start and the 7pm finish, you've got four hours of rock and metal in the middle of the day, and you're out by teatime.
