A daytime indie party for over-30s featuring classic tracks from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s, hosted by Old School Indie, Feeling Gloomy and Age Against The Machine.
An Afternoon Of Indie returns to The Record Factory on Saturday 17 October, from 3pm to 7pm. It's the daytime sister to Old School Indie, the club night built for over-30s, and this is its third Glasgow outing after two previous sell-outs. The organisers bill it as the UK's biggest indie party, with a following that now spans 17 cities.
On the day, Old School Indie joins up with Feeling Gloomy and Age Against The Machine. The DJs work through the decades, taking in 70s punk, 80s new wave, 90s Britpop and early 2000s indie. The playlist is a long one: Bowie, Pulp, The Clash, The Jam, The Cure, Joy Division, Stone Roses, The Smiths, New Order, The Strokes, Supergrass, The Kinks, Franz Ferdinand, Nirvana, Ash, Rolling Stones, The Who, Primal Scream, The Killers, Sultans of Ping, Buzzcocks, Ramones, The Specials, Blondie, Hole, Madness, La's, Weezer, The Cardigans, Housemartins, The Coral, Undertones, Inspiral Carpets, Bloc Party, The Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Radiohead, Suede, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Pixies. They also throw in some rock n' roll, soul, northern soul and ska.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind before you head down. The door policy is strict: over-30s only, with ID required at the door. And because it's a daytime session, the party wraps by 7pm, so you're home in time for dinner rather than out until the early hours. Tickets start from £9.50, and the whole thing runs from 3pm to 7pm at The Record Factory, 17 Byres Road, Glasgow G11 5RD.
