Feature-length documentary following global superstar LISA during a transformative year away from Blackpink, shown on IMAX at Glasgow Science Centre.
Always Lalisa opens at the IMAX Theatre, Glasgow Science Centre on Monday 12 October, and it runs through to Wednesday 14 October. It's a feature-length documentary following LISA through a year away from Blackpink, the K-pop phenomenon that made her one of the world's most recognisable performers. While the group paused activities, she stepped into the first true chapter of her solo career: writing, recording and releasing her debut solo album Alter Ego, making her acting debut in the third season of The White Lotus, and preparing for her first major solo performance at the 2025 Coachella Music Festival.
There's a bit of history to catch up on here, too. Born and raised in Thailand, she left home at fourteen to train in South Korea's demanding K-pop system, and the film works its way back to those early days. The filmmakers describe it as intimate, emotional and revealing, documenting a year of risk, reinvention and self-discovery as she redefines herself on her own terms. It's less a highlight reel and more a look at the work that went into that transition from group member to solo artist.
