A festive screening of Disney's The Muppet Christmas Carol with the original score performed live by an orchestra, featuring Michael Caine and the Muppets.
Disney's The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert comes to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday 2 December, as part of a 15-date UK tour this festive season. It's a screening of the film with the musical score performed live by an orchestra, so you'll see the movie on screen while the music is played right there in the room.
The film itself is the Muppets' take on Charles Dickens' holiday tale. Kermit the Frog plays Bob Cratchit, and Michael Caine takes on the role of the stingy Ebenezer Scrooge. Gonzo plays Dickens himself and narrates with the help of Rizzo the Rat, while Miss Piggy is Emily Cratchit, Fozzie Bear turns up as Fozziwig, and Robin the Frog plays Tiny Tim. The original score was composed by Miles Goodman, who also worked on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Little Shop of Horrors, with songs by Paul Williams including 'Rainbow Connection' and 'Evergreen'.
