Alison Moyet performs her Yazoo catalogue and solo electronica tracks on her 'Songs of Yazoo, the minutes & Other' tour at the SEC Armadillo.
Alison Moyet plays the SEC Armadillo on Tuesday 27 October, part of a 34-date headline tour across Europe, the UK and Ireland. The Glasgow date is one stop on a run she's calling Songs of Yazoo, the minutes & Other, and the title tells you exactly what she's planning for the set.
For the bulk of the night, Moyet and her band play exclusively from the Yazoo catalogue, the synth-pop partnership she fronted in the early eighties. That's the core of the show, with the Yazoo songs taking up the vast majority of the set. Alongside them, she'll pull a handful of tracks from the minutes and Other, two of her solo electronica albums. So if you've followed her since the Yazoo days, you'll get the early material you remember, with a few later electronic pieces woven in.
She's not on her own up there. She'll be backed by her band, Sean McGhee, Brendan Cox and Paul Jones, so it's a full group on stage rather than a solo turn. The tour itself is a long one, with 34 dates across the UK, Ireland and Europe, and the Glasgow show is one of the UK stops.
