A relaxed performance of the pantomime Aladdin, starring Elaine C Smith and Johnny Mac, at The King's Theatre.
Aladdin is back at King's Theatre this winter, running from Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. It's a brand-new version of the classic tale, built around the Glasgow wit, music and dance that's become the hallmark of the King's panto. The production comes from Crossroads Pantomimes, who have staged the theatre's panto since 2017.
At the heart of it are Elaine C Smith as Mother Goose and Johnny Mac as Aladdin. The two have headlined many of the city's biggest pantomimes over the past 20 years, and they're the familiar faces that usually anchor the whole thing. Joining them are Darren Brownlie as the Spirit of the Ring, Hannah Jarrett-Scott as the Wicked Witch, Blythe Jandoo as Princess Jemima, Gordon Cooper as Old King Cole and Rushand Chambers as the Genie.
There are a few returning names in the mix. Darren Brownlie is back for his sixth panto at the King's, and Hannah Jarrett-Scott is on her third. Jarrett-Scott brings a fair bit of stage experience with her, having worked across the National Theatre of Scotland, Tron Theatre, Royal Lyceum Edinburgh and Traverse Theatre, as well as London's Royal Court and BBC Scotland shows like Outlander, Two Doors Down and Scot Squad. Gordon Cooper is a well-known voice-over artist, with credits including Trainspotting the Musical, The League of Gentlemen and Baldur's Gate 3.
