A new autumn season of musicals, comedies and dramas at Oran Mor, where every ticket includes a pie and a pint.
A Play, A Pie and A Pint is back at Òran Mór for its autumn season, running from 16 October to 7 November. If you've never been, the whole thing is built on a simple, long-running Glasgow tradition: every ticket includes a pie and a pint to go with the show. It's a theatre and music series that runs in two main seasons a year, spring and autumn, and it's built a following on exactly that — pairing a performance with a meal.
The autumn line-up is split into four blocks, each with its own show. Bottom's Dream opens the season on 16 and 17 October. Lune takes over from 19 to 24 October. Badhbh-Shith and The Storytellers run from 26 to 31 October, and Zamboni closes the season from 2 to 7 November. Every single show starts at 13:00, so these are all matinees rather than evening slots.
Beyond the main seasons, Òran Mór keeps a few other things going. There's A Slice of the Pie, a scratch night for emerging talent, and Trajectories, a two-day writing showcase run by Scottish Youth Theatre where new writers are mentored by the award-winning playwright Douglas Maxwell. Between the main autumn block and these side programmes, there's plenty to choose from across the few weeks.
