A musical stage adaptation of the Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler children's book, with music and lyrics by Joe Stilgoe and puppets by Little Angel.
Zog and The Flying Doctors comes to The Lyceum from Tuesday 6 to Sunday 11 July 2027, a stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's children's book. It's produced by Freckle Productions in association with Rose Theatre, with music and lyrics by Joe Stilgoe and puppets by Little Angel.
The story follows Zog, the keenest but most accident-prone dragon at Madam Dragon's school, who dreams of winning a golden star and eventually qualifies as an air-ambulance pilot. Alongside his Flying Doctor crew, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout, he treats a sunburnt mermaid, a unicorn with too many horns and a lion with the flu, while Pearl's uncle the King locks her up in the castle. It's billed as a modern take on the classic fairy tale, and the show is aimed at young audiences, most suitable for ages 3 and over, though all ages are welcome. The production comes from the team behind Stick Man.
