Evening course on the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, held over nine consecutive Tuesday evenings at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre.
Edinburgh Local Wine School starts a new WSET Level 2 Award in Wines course at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre on Tuesday 27 October. It's an evening course, so it kicks off at 18:00, and it runs over nine consecutive Tuesday nights, which means you'll be back there once a week well into December. If you're thinking of signing up, keep in mind it's a commitment, not a one-off.
The WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) is the big international name in wine and spirits education, and their qualifications are recognised worldwide by both industry pros and enthusiasts. Edinburgh Local Wine School is one of their approved providers, delivering qualifications up to Level 3. They're part of the Local Wine School Network, which they describe as the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools.
Level 2 is a vocational product-knowledge qualification aimed at drinks industry employees with little previous wine knowledge, but it works just as well for dedicated enthusiasts. You don't need to have done Level 1 first, so you can jump straight in. It carries full OfQual accreditation as a Level 2 Vocational Qualification under the UK Government's Qualifications & Credits Framework, so it's a proper qualification you can put on a CV.
