A community market by the queer community featuring local queer makers, craft activities, and beauty services, with a quiet hour at the start.
Wee Gay Market takes over Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Saturday 14 November, from 11am to 5pm. It's billed as the first ever 'wee gay market', and the organisers describe it as a space created by the queer community to go beyond the conventional local market: a place where queer people can find products that resonate with their identity while meeting new friends and connecting with like-minded people.
The stalls are hand-selected to offer a varied range of products from local queer makers, so it's as much about the people behind the tables as it is about what they're selling. The day also includes a quiet hour at the start for a more comfortable shopping experience, and free craft activities run by a local charity that shares resources and services. There's a range of beauty services provided by members of the local queer community, too.
