Producer Trevor Horn brings his band and his iconic hits to The Queen's Hall in Edinburgh.
Trevor Horn is playing The Queen's Hall on Saturday 5 December, bringing his band and a set of his hits to the stage. For most of us, Horn is a name we know from the credits rather than the front of the stage. He's spent decades as a producer, the man behind the glass shaping pop and rock records across several different eras, so seeing him out front with a full band is a bit of a shift from how he's usually known.
Before he became a producer, he fronted The Buggles, and that's where one of the songs you'll likely hear comes from: 'Video Killed the Radio Star', which became a worldwide hit. That's the sort of thing he's pulling from his back catalogue for this one — the songs he wrote and recorded, rather than the ones he produced for other people. The set is built around those hits, and he's bringing a band to do them live, so it's a night of music rather than a talk about how the records were made.
If you've spent any time listening to pop or rock from the last few decades, you've probably heard his work without even realising it. He's one of those figures who's been around the edges of the charts for years, and this is a rare chance to see him stepping out from the studio and into the spotlight. It's a straightforward bill: Trevor Horn & His Band.
