Health creation marketplace for people working in health, organised by Voluntary Health Scotland at the Scottish Parliament.
Voluntary Health Scotland are hosting the Third Sector Health Creation Marketplace in the Garden Lobby of the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday 8 December, from 6pm to 8pm. It's a gathering for anyone working in health, regardless of which sector they're in, and it sits within the wider health creation work VHS has been doing lately.
To get the scale of it, it helps to know who's behind it. Voluntary Health Scotland is the national intermediary and network for voluntary health organisations across Scotland. They've been around since 2000, are based right here in Edinburgh, and have more than 300 member organisations. They describe themselves as 'a movement for health creation' and their focus is on reducing health inequalities. The marketplace is one part of that broader work, which also includes a Manifesto for Health Creation and a series of consultations that have run alongside it.
It's a bit of a transition period for them, too. They're currently rebranding, having voted at an Extraordinary General Meeting to adopt a new name and a new visual identity. If you're not already a member, it's free to join, and the event itself is open to anyone actively involved in health, whether you're in the voluntary sector, the NHS, or anywhere else in between. The marketplace format is built for that kind of cross-sector mixing, so it's as much about meeting people as it is about the health creation work itself.

It's in the Garden Lobby of the Scottish Parliament, so it's right in the heart of the city. It runs from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 8 December, and since it's open to anyone working in health, you're welcome to drop in even if you're not part of the voluntary sector.
