A live-to-film experience in which a 12-piece ensemble plays Alexandre Desplat's score while the film 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' screens in its entirety.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon in Concert comes to Usher Hall on Saturday 20 February 2027, starting at 19:30. It's a live-to-film experience from Lionsgate and the producers of Twilight in Concert, and the second chapter of the saga to be reimagined this way. The film screens in its entirety on the big screen while a 12-piece ensemble of rock and orchestral musicians performs the score live, in perfect synchronisation with the action.
The music was composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat, who took over from Carter Burwell for this second instalment and introduced fan favourites like 'New Moon (The Meadow)', 'Bella Dreams' and 'Werewolves'. Hearing them played live by a full ensemble is a different thing from the recorded version, and the rock elements of the band sit alongside the orchestral strings to cover the score from start to finish.
