The Scottish Tattoo Convention

The International Scottish Tattoo Convention returns to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March 2027, running from 11am to 8pm both days. It's now in its 14th edition, and over those years it's grown into one of the most talked-about dates on the Scottish social calendar. If you've been around the scene for a while, you'll know it's as much about the atmosphere as the ink.

The convention brings together world-renowned tattoo artists from across the UK and from further afield, with homegrown talent and international names working side by side. It's not just about the tattooing, either: the event is known for its entertainment, music and vendors, which have become its trademark over the years. You'll find old favourites returning alongside fresh talent, so there's a good mix of established artists and newer faces to choose from.

The venue is the Edinburgh Corn Exchange at 10 New Market Road, EH14 1RJ. It's a Category B listed building that opened in 1909 and was formerly the O2 Academy Edinburgh, one of the city's largest standing multi-purpose venues. It's part of the Academy Music Group portfolio, which also includes the O2 Academy Glasgow, O2 Academy Brixton and O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. The organisers have been open about where the convention gets its legs, too: they say its success rests on the support of the local community. Total Tattoo magazine summed up the previous edition as 'just so good'.

It runs across the whole weekend, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March, from 11am to 8pm each day, so you've got plenty of time to wander the stalls, watch the artists work and take in the music and entertainment without having to rush. The Corn Exchange is over at 10 New Market Road, EH14 1RJ.
