Two-day CPD course led by Lohani Noor that weaves Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and psychosexual perspectives for couples work.
The Relational Crucible: Integrative Couples Therapy runs over two days at Physis Scotland on 9 and 10 January 2027, with the first day kicking off at 10:00 on Saturday. It's a CPD course for therapists, and the description makes it clear it's open to both trainees and qualified practitioners, so you don't need to be fully established to get involved.
The course weaves together Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and psychosexual perspectives for couples work. Day one focuses on scripts, contracts and the relational field; day two moves into the body, sexuality and integration, including a biopsychosocial frame for working with sex and intimacy. It's not just listening, either: the format mixes short teaching inputs, experiential work in triads and case vignettes, with time to bring in your own cases. You don't need prior TA or Gestalt training to join in, and everyone gets a course handbook with assessment tools, formulation templates and a reading list to take home.
Lohani Noor leads the two days. He's the founding director of ThIRST, the Institute for Relational and Sexual Therapies, a UKCP registered psychotherapist and an accredited member of COSRT. He holds a four-year diploma in TA psychotherapy and an MSc in Psychosexual Therapies, and he wrote Rationale for Psychosexual Therapies: 100 Key Points and Techniques in 2026. The 14 hours of in-person work carry a CPD certificate.
