Relaxed 4-mile fun run, walk or jog across Edinburgh for Medics Reveal, with a free Margarita at the finish.
The Margarita Marathon kicks off at Seamus's Pub on Sunday 1 November, from 12:00 to 14:00. It's a four-mile run across Edinburgh organised by Dropkick Murphys in conjunction with Medics Reveal, and every penny raised goes to the charity's fundraising.
The name is a bit of a wind-up — the brackets on the listing make it clear it's only four miles, not a full marathon. The organisers describe it as a feel-good, relaxed, social affair rather than a serious race, so you can run, walk or jog the whole thing at your own pace. If you fancy it, you're welcome to walk all or part of the route, too.
The course starts at Seamus's Pub in Tollcross and finishes at Dougal's Pub on Portobello High Street. Along the way, you'll pass through The Meadows, Duddingston Road Lower and Duddingston Village, taking you from the city centre out towards the coast. When you cross the finish line at Dougal's, you're rewarded with a free Margarita, and you get to pick your flavour: Classic, Spicy or Fruity.
