Relaxed 4-mile social fun run from Seamus's Pub to Dougal's Pub, with walkers welcome and all proceeds to St Columba's Hospice.
The Margarita Marathon kicks off at Seamus's Pub on Sunday 1 November, a 4-mile social run from Tollcross to Portobello. It's organised by Dropkick Murphys in conjunction with Synergy Group Fitness, and they've billed it as a relaxed, fun affair rather than a proper race. Walkers are very welcome to take part, so you don't have to be a runner to get involved.
The route starts at Seamus's Pub in Tollcross and finishes at Dougal's Pub on Portobello High Street. Along the way, you'll pass through The Meadows, Duddingston Road Lower, and Duddingston Village, and the organisers point out that it's mostly downhill, which makes it a bit easier on the legs. The whole thing runs over two hours, from 12:00 to 14:00, so there's plenty of time to take it steady.

There's a charitable side to it too: all proceeds go to St Columba's Hospice. The session is for ages 18 and over, and as a reward for making it to the end, everyone gets a free Margarita at the finish — you can choose between Classic, Spicy or Fruity. It's a social run through the city, from one pub to another, with a drink waiting for you at the other end and the money going to a good cause. If you're up for a bit of a wander across Edinburgh on a Sunday afternoon, this is a decent way to do it.
