A live-to-picture orchestral experience that brings the animated series The Legend of Korra to life with a symphonic performance and HD projections.
The Legend of Korra in Concert comes to Usher Hall on Wednesday 3 February 2027, at 19:30. It's a live-to-picture orchestral experience, which is a fancy way of saying a full symphony orchestra plays the score live in the room while HD projections of scenes from the animated series run on screen. The music and the images are synced up, so the orchestra is playing along to the action as it unfolds.
If the name sounds familiar, it's because it's the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender, set 70 years after the original series. The Legend of Korra first aired on Nickelodeon in 2012, and the music was written by Emmy Award-winning composer Jeremy Zuckerman. His score blends orchestral, jazz, electronic and world music influences, which fits the show's more modern setting and its more complex themes. Hearing it live in a hall like the Usher is a different thing from hearing it on a TV or laptop.
The producers behind this are the same ones who took Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert and its 20th Anniversary Tour around the world, selling more than half a million tickets across more than 25 countries. That run established the franchise as one of the most successful live-to-film animated concert tours globally, and this is the same format applied to the sequel.
