Networking session where freelancers, specialists and small business owners share advice and support each other's growth.
The Knowledge Room is back at Hotel Indigo Edinburgh - Princes Street by IHG on Wednesday 21 October, starting at 10:00. It's a networking morning for freelancers, specialists and small business owners to get together and share advice, and if you've been working on your own lately, it's a decent way to spend a mid-week morning.
The format is straightforward: everyone takes a turn to share what they're currently stuck on and what they can help others with. It's a friendly setting where no question is too silly, and the regulars usually include social media specialists, web designers, business coaches, copywriters, photographers and virtual assistants. If you're a freelancer or running a small business, you'll likely find a few people there who do exactly what you do, and a few more who do the things you're struggling with.
It was started by Larisa Ilin, an Edinburgh-based social media specialist and founder of Digital Kindness SCIO, who met Susan Graham, owner of Embra Digital, at a networking event. The two wanted to build a room where people could swap support and advice because, as they put it, growth needs kindness. That's the whole idea behind it — a space where you can ask for a hand without overthinking it, and offer one in return.
