Musical show led by Mario Kombou and his all-star band that stages the story of Elvis Presley with more than 50 of his hits.
The Elvis Years comes to Usher Hall on Sunday 17 January 2027, a musical production that stages the story of Elvis Presley. It's led by Mario Kombou, the original star of the West End musical Jailhouse Rock, and his all-star band, with producer and musical director David Mackay — an Ivor Novello award winner — at the helm.
The show works through the eras of Presley's journey to iconic stardom, playing more than 50 classic hits. Among them are 'That's Alright Mama', 'Suspicious Minds', 'It's Now or Never', 'Heartbreak Hotel', 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Hound Dog', 'Love Me Tender' and 'If I Can Dream'. Nostalgic film footage and no fewer than 12 costume changes round out the evening, which is billed as the ultimate celebration of The King.
Kombou and Mackay bring more than 20 years of critical acclaim to the production, and a Number One appearance on Top of the Pops. The setlist spans the different stages of Elvis's career, from the early Sun recordings to the Las Vegas years, so you'll hear the rock and roll, the ballads and the gospel-tinged numbers that defined his sound. The film footage and the costume changes are part of the storytelling, tracing the years from his start in Memphis to the global fame that followed.
