Scottish Premiership Edinburgh derby between Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian at Tynecastle Park on Boxing Day.
Hearts take on Hibernian at Tynecastle Park on Boxing Day, 26 December, for the second Edinburgh derby of the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership season. It's one of the city's oldest and most intense rivalries, and this is the middle leg of three league meetings between the two sides this campaign.
The first was back in September, when Hibernian hosted at Easter Road on 2 September. The return fixture at Tynecastle brings the action to the west of the city, and there's one more to follow after that: a third meeting back in Leith on 10 April 2027. Between the two, they'll have played three times across the season, with the Boxing Day clash sitting right in the middle.
There's a bit of history to carry into this one. Hearts had the upper hand last season, winning three of the four league meetings with Hibernian. Hibernian, on the other hand, finished as runners-up and missed out on the title on the final day. That gap between second place and the trophy will be on their minds heading into the new year.

If you're planning to be there, it's Boxing Day, so keep in mind the holiday timings. The match is part of the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership schedule, and with the next derby not until April, this is the one to watch if you're following the race for the title.
