The Complete Stone Roses, a UK tribute band to the Stone Roses, play The Liquid Room on Victoria Street with support from OCS and Retro Dave.
The Complete Stone Roses play The Liquid Room on Saturday 7 November, with support from OCS tribute and Retro Dave. It's a Stone Roses tribute night, and the headliners are one of the UK's best-known acts doing the band's material, selling out venues across the UK and Ireland. They're described as the closest thing to the atmosphere and sound of a Stone Roses gig.
The original band played a pivotal role in the UK indie scene, and the set leans on the catalogue of Ian Brown and John Squire. Songs like 'Fools Gold', 'I Am The Resurrection' and 'I Wanna Be Adored' are as recognisable as the heyday of Madchester and the Hacienda, and they're exactly the kind of thing you'll hear here. The tribute act has earned praise from fans, the press and even original Stone Roses members: bassist Mani said they 'do our songs real justice. At times, they play even better than we did'.
It's a full night of tribute acts, so the Stone Roses aren't the only ones on the bill. OCS tribute and Retro Dave open the evening, meaning the tribute theme runs through the whole line-up. The Liquid Room is at 9C Victoria Street in Edinburgh Old Town, EH1 2HE.
