The Comedy Lock-In

Rick Molland hosts The Comedy Lock-In at The Beehive Inn on New Year's Day, 1 January 2027. It's an evening of sharp wit and lively banter, with Molland bringing together a lineup of his comedy pals from the UK circuit. The night follows a rotating format — one experienced MC and three acts — with fresh lineups drawing on talent from Scotland, the wider UK and beyond. The room has also seen surprise appearances from recognisable comedy names.

The show takes place at The Comedy Attic, an intimate pub-comedy club hidden on the top floor of The Beehive Inn, 18-20 Grassmarket. It seats around 65 guests, so you're close to the performers. The Grassmarket is one of the Old Town's oldest and most atmospheric neighbourhoods, with views towards Edinburgh Castle, and it's within easy reach of Waverley Station, the Royal Mile and Victoria Street.

Doors open at 8pm, the show starts at 8:15pm and usually finishes around 10pm. The experience is for guests aged 18 and over. Food and drinks aren't included, though they can be bought at The Beehive Inn.
