Weekly stand-up show with Scottish, Irish and international comedians in an intimate underground venue on Canongate.
The Comedy Cellar is back at The Canons Gait on Wednesday 14 July, running from 20:00 to 22:00. It's presented by PBH's Free Fringe, and it's one of those Fringe staples that returns year after year. The show is billed as Edinburgh's only five-star rated comedy show, and it's built around a simple, reliable format: stand-up seven nights a week in an intimate underground venue.
The room is small, and the line-up changes from night to night. You'll find Scottish, Irish and international comedians filling the afternoon, night and late-night sessions, so the voices on stage shift depending on when you go. It's a showcase for a wide range of acts rather than a single headliner, which is part of why it's become a Fringe favourite.
There are a few house rules to keep in mind before you book. Children are welcome as long as they're accompanied by an adult, but babies under two aren't allowed. And if you're planning a late one, be aware that the show is strictly 21+ after 21:00, so if you're bringing anyone younger, you'll need to be out by then.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
