Hands-on workshop led by registered dramatherapists that uses theatre, ritual and play to explore personal history, for adults.
The Art of Being Human: Exploring Self-Revelatory Arts is a workshop running in Edinburgh on Saturday 31 October, from 1pm to 5pm at the Edinburgh Open Workshop, 39-41 Assembly Street in Leith. It's the second of two sessions, the first of which took place online on Thursday 22 October.
It's an exploratory, hands-on workshop that uses theatre, ritual and play to help you look at your own personal history from a new angle. The organisers describe it as being for anyone interested in using the arts to explore who they are, and you don't need any professional creative experience to take part. It's for ages 18 and over.
The session is led by registered dramatherapists Abigail Nelson and Kate Stevens. Nelson works in Edinburgh and online through therapy, documentary film and retreats; Stevens practises in Inverness and online. They're both registered dramatherapists, and they're clear on one point: while they lead the session, it's not a therapy session.
