Bristol beatmaking duo The Allergies play The Voodoo Rooms with special guest DJ Simon Hodge, over-18s only.
The Allergies play The Voodoo Rooms on Friday 15 January, as part of their Beneath This Sun live tour. They're headlining the night, with DJ Simon Hodge on as special guest.
If you haven't come across them, The Allergies are the Bristol-based beatmaking duo of DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat. They've been filling dance floors and airwaves since their debut album in 2016, and since then they've put out three LPs on Brighton's Jalapeno Records. Along the way, they've picked up BBC Radio 6 Music's Album of the Day and Album of the Year honours, toured the world, and soundtracked international ad and TV campaigns.
The two bring different backgrounds to the partnership. Moneyshot was already known as a resident on Ninja Tune's Solid Steel radio, and Rolling Stone once ranked him in their '25 Greatest Internet DJ Mixes of All Time'. Rackabeat is a drum 'n' bass producer who's remixed acts like Groove Armada. Together they work in deep funk and feel-good hip-hop, and they're open about where they draw from: Cut Chemist and Public Enemy's Bomb Squad, The Avalanches, and vintage De La Soul. It's that kind of crate-digging, sample-heavy sound that sits somewhere between a dancefloor and a proper listen.

Tickets are £20, and the show starts at 7:30pm at The Voodoo Rooms, 19a West Register Street, EH2 2AA. One thing to keep in mind: it's an over-18s night, so you'll need ID on you.
