A ten-piece band recreates the Talking Heads concert film 'Stop Making Sense' live, playing every song it features.
A ten-piece band is playing The Queen's Hall on Friday 26 February, as part of a tour that's taking them across the UK throughout 2026 and 2027. The whole night is built around one specific thing: Stop Making Sense, the Talking Heads concert film released by the band and director Jonathan Demme on 19 October 1984.
If you've seen the film, you know how it works. It's not just a few highlights; it's the whole thing. The band recreates it live, playing every Talking Heads song that appears in the movie. That means the set runs from the early, jittery energy of 'Psycho Killer' through to 'Burning Down The House' and 'Once In A Lifetime'. It's a long list of songs, and they're all there, so you'll hear the full sequence rather than a best-of selection.
Having ten people on stage is part of the point. The film is famous for how the band builds up on stage, starting with David Byrne and adding musicians one by one until the sound is full and layered. That's exactly what is being recreated here, so the scale of the original performance is what they're going for.
