Starsailor perform their 'Love is Here' album in full with live strings, arranged and conducted by Joe Duddell, as part of their 25th-anniversary tour.
Starsailor play the Usher Hall on Saturday 17 October, part of their Starsailor with Strings: Love is Here 25th Anniversary UK Tour. The set is the debut album, Love Is Here, played in full with strings arranged and conducted by Joe Duddell.
It's a specific way to mark twenty-five years together. The band is James Walsh, James Stelfox, Ben Byrne and Barry Westhead, who signed to EMI in early 2001 and released Love Is Here as their debut; it peaked at number two. Their second record, Silence Is Easy, also reached number two and gave them the hits 'Silence Is Easy' and 'Four To The Floor', with two tracks produced by Phil Spector. On The Outside (2005) moved towards a more direct rock sound, and All The Plans (2009) brought 'Tell Me It's Not Over'.
After a five-year hiatus, they returned in 2014 co-headlining a tour with Embrace, and in 2017 released the greatest-hits album All This Life, produced by Embrace's Rick McNamara. 2024 brought new music, Where The Wild Things Grow, again with McNamara, and the live album Starsailor with Strings: Live from Liverpool formed part of their anniversary celebrations. This Edinburgh date is part of the same tour.
