Commemorative walk under the stars at Holyrood Park in memory of babies who died too soon, organised by the charity Sands.
Starlight Walk Edinburgh takes place at Holyrood Park on Saturday 14 November, with registration opening at 3pm and the walk starting at 4pm. It's run by Sands, the UK's leading pregnancy and baby loss charity, and it's one of several walks they hold across the country on the same day.
The idea is simple: people walk under the stars in memory of babies who died too soon. You can join the organised walk in the park, host your own with family and friends, or take part virtually if you can't make it to Edinburgh. Every participant gets a pack with a welcome letter, a card of dedication, a lantern and a tea light, and a medal at the finish line.
The Edinburgh leg is set in Holyrood Park, with Arthur's Seat as a backdrop, and there's an accessible route available. Fundraising isn't essential, but it helps Sands save babies' lives and run its support services, which include the Sands Helpline and support groups across the UK. If you're walking with a group, you can set up your own fundraising page, but you're just as welcome to join in without one.
