Original Dating are running a speed dating night for singles in their 30s and 40s at Manahatta on Thursday 4 February, from 8pm to 10pm. It's pitched as face-to-face dating for men and women in their early thirties to mid-forties, with no swiping involved. The format is straightforward: women stay seated while men move around the room, and everyone gets a Passion Passport™ to note down who they meet. Each date lasts four minutes, with a break halfway through for a drink, and the whole evening runs for about two hours.
Matches are worked out afterwards and sent via the Original Dating website's private messages by 5pm the next day, so nobody ever sees a 'No'. One guest who attended an Edinburgh speed dating night in June 2026 called it 'a very effective and wonderful act of liberation from loneliness'.
