Small Fakers, the UK's number one tribute to Small Faces, play their classics with support from The Kinks Experience at La Belle Angele.
Small Fakers are back at La Belle Angele on Friday 20 November, with The Kinks Experience supporting. It's part of their annual run of joint gigs across Edinburgh and Glasgow, so if you've seen them in the west, this is the other half of the pair.
Small Fakers are billed as the UK's number one tribute to Small Faces and The Kinks, and they've built the night around that double bill. Their set works through the Small Faces classics — Lazy Sunday, All Or Nothing, Tin Soldier and Itchycoo Park — and pulls in album tracks alongside them. The Kinks Experience take the other side, covering hits like You Really Got Me, All Day And All Of The Night, Lola and Days.
Between the two of them, you've got a good stretch of the Mod era covered in one evening. The Small Faces songs lean into that soulful, R&B-tinged sound they were known for, while The Kinks Experience bring the more jagged, guitar-driven side of the sixties. It's a double bill that makes sense together, rather than two separate acts that just happen to share a stage.

The night is presented by Friday Street Presents, and it's for over-18s only. Doors open at 6:30pm, and tickets start from £20.50. The organisers note that these nights always sell out in advance, so if you're planning on going, it's worth getting yours sorted sooner rather than later. La Belle Angele is at 11 Hasties Close, off Cowgate, EH1 1HJ.
