Facilitated afternoons of meaningful conversation with strangers, sparked by thoughtful question prompts.
Skip the Small Talk is at Moonwake Beer Co on Sunday 25 October, from 4pm to 6pm. It's an afternoon for meeting and connecting with strangers through what they call 'big talk'—meaningful conversation rather than the usual weather and work chat. The whole thing is facilitated, with a clear structure and thoughtful question prompts to get things moving, so you don't have to worry about where to start or how to keep a conversation going.
There are ground rules in place to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe, and you keep control over how much you choose to share. You can lean into the deeper questions or keep things lighter, and the structure is there to hold the space rather than force you into anything you're not ready for. It's designed to get you past the surface level and into the kind of conversations that usually take months of knowing someone to reach.

The afternoon runs from 4pm to 6pm, so it's a late-afternoon thing rather than a late one. It's held at Moonwake Beer Co, 6A Tower Street, Leith, EH6 7BY. Tickets are £14.00 per person.
