Language exchange meet-up called Show and Tell held at the Leith Community Centre.
Show and Tell is back at Leith Community Centre on Thursday 29 October, starting at 13:00. It's a language exchange meet-up, so the whole thing is built around people coming together to swap languages and chat. If you've been looking for a way to practice a language you're learning or just want to meet people from different backgrounds, this is exactly that.
The format is straightforward: you bring whatever language you're working on, and you spend the afternoon talking with others who are in a similar boat. It's less about formal lessons and more about the actual act of speaking, so you'll spend your time switching between languages as you go. If you're just starting out, it's a low-pressure way to get some real-world practice in without the nerves of a classroom.
Because it's a community centre event, it's as much about the social side as the language part. You'll find people there who are learning for travel, for family, or just for the sake of it, and the conversation usually drifts from the language itself to whatever else comes up. It's the kind of afternoon where you might walk in knowing one person and walk out having had a proper chat with five or six others.
