Shawn Colvin celebrates the 30th anniversary of her classic album A Few Small Repairs with a rare UK and Ireland tour.
Shawn Colvin plays The Queen's Hall on Friday 16 October, her first Edinburgh date in a rare tour of the UK and Ireland. The night is built around A Few Small Repairs, the album that turned her into a star and which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. It's a milestone that marks a long way from where she started.
Colvin first burst onto the scene with her 1989 debut Steady On, which won the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Folk Album the following spring. In the three decades since, she's collected three GRAMMYs, released thirteen albums, and written a critically acclaimed memoir. She's become a revered storyteller and singer-songwriter, with her songs appearing in major motion pictures. This tour is presented by RLN Music and The Queen's Hall.
She won't be on her own for the whole evening: Blair Dunlop opens the night, so there's a support act to warm things up before she takes the stage. The concert is for over-14s only, and under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult.
