Scotland host Japan in the November round of the Rugby World Cup Nations Championship at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
Scotland take on Japan at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday 21 November, kick-off at 2:10 pm. It's part of the Nations Championship, which replaces the old summer tours and autumn tests with two series: three rounds in July and three in November, pitting the best teams from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres against each other.
This is Japan's first visit to Scotland in five years. The last time they met here was in the 2021 autumn series, when Scotland won 29-20 in a match where captain Stuart Hogg became the country's all-time leading try-scorer. Across nine full Tests since 1991, Scotland have won eight and Japan just once: that victory came at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Yokohama, where they won 28-21 despite a typhoon and an earthquake on the eve of the match. Japan come in having finished runners-up in last year's Pacific Nations Cup, after a famous win against Wales in the summer.
