Halloween night of footwork music with Chicago Footwork Scotland taking over RUBBLE at People's Leisure Club.
RUBBLE is back at People's Leisure Club on Tuesday 27 October, and this one is a Halloween special. The night is a takeover by Chicago Footwork Scotland, who'll be taking charge of the decks for the whole session. If you're not familiar with the sound, footwork is a fast, syncopated style of dance music that came out of Chicago, built on rapid-fire beats and chopped-up samples that keep the energy high and the floor moving. It's exactly the kind of thing that works when you've got a room full of people and a late start.
Because it's a takeover, Chicago Footwork Scotland will be running the show from start to finish rather than playing a single slot. That means the footwork sound will be the focus of the entire night, not just one part of a wider bill. It's a good way to get a proper feel for the style, and with the Halloween theme, it's a decent excuse to turn up in costume if that's your thing.

People's Leisure Club is at 45 Lothian Street, right in the centre of Edinburgh, so it's an easy one to get to. The night kicks off at 23:00 and runs through into Wednesday morning, which fits the late-night, clubby side of things. Tickets start from £5.00 via RA, so it's a low-stakes way to spend a Tuesday night if you're in the mood for something a bit faster than your usual mid-week.
