Early morning dance-music club night with commercial dance anthems, old skool house, disco, funk and trance for wellbeing and community.
Rise&Rave returns to Leith Arches on Saturday 5 December, an 8am start that puts the dancefloor well ahead of the usual Saturday night. It's a feel-good dance-music event built around wellbeing and community, and the organisers describe it as 'no hangovers, just good vibes' with the chance to meet people on the dancefloor.
The music covers a broad stretch of dance territory. You'll hear commercial dance anthems and old skool house alongside disco, funk and trance, running from uplifting, hands-in-the-air tunes to classic dance hits. It's the kind of set that pulls from a few different eras of the dancefloor rather than sticking to one particular sound.
There's a specific reason for the early start, too. The organisers explain they've adjusted the timings — an 8am start and an extra 30 minutes in bed — to keep everyone on the dancefloor longer. It's a morning session rather than a late one, so you're dancing through the start of the day instead of into the small hours.
