Keyboardist Rick Wakeman plays his classic back catalogue with The English Rock Ensemble at the Usher Hall.
Rick Wakeman brings The Wizard of Prog: Ultimate Highlights Concert Tour to Usher Hall on Thursday 25 February 2027. It's part of a run through February and March that Wakeman announced on his 77th birthday, and it's set to be his longest UK tour to date.
If you've seen him before, you'll know his usual format: a single album played in full. This one does things differently. The setlist sweeps across his back catalogue, with live fan favourites sitting alongside extracts from his epic concept albums, Journey To The Centre Of The Earth and The Myths & Legends of King Arthur & The Knights Of The Round Table. There's also his work with YES and a few surprises thrown in. It's a broad look at his career rather than a deep dive into one record.
He's not on his own, either. He'll be joined by The English Rock Ensemble: Jesse Smith on lead vocals, Adam Wakeman on keyboards, guitars and backing vocals, Dave Colquhoun on guitars, Lee Pomeroy on bass, and Adam Falkner on drums. Backing vocals come from Sara Davey, Jo Goldsmith-Eteson and Jo Marshall. The Edinburgh date is presented by Kilimanjaro Live.
