Reimagined SMAS Business Improvement Academy

The Reimagined SMAS Business Improvement Academy is coming to Edinburgh on Thursday 25 February 2027, starting at 09:00. It's a business improvement session run by Scottish Enterprise, and this particular run has a new credential attached to it.

The big change this time around is that the academy is now LCS-accredited. For those who don't know, LCS stands for the Lean Certification System, and it means the teams who go through the programme walk away with globally recognised Lean credentials. If you've been working with Lean principles in your business, it's a way to get that experience formally recognised with a qualification that carries weight beyond the local scene.

Lean is all about cutting waste and improving efficiency—the kind of practical, day-to-day changes that make a business run smoother without needing a complete overhaul. The academy is built around those ideas, and the accreditation means the training is aligned with a global standard rather than just being a one-off workshop. It's designed for teams to work through together, so it's as much about getting your people on the same page as it is about the tools themselves.

It's a paid session, and the venue in Edinburgh is still to be confirmed, so keep an eye out for that detail as the date gets closer. It kicks off at 09:00 on the morning of Thursday 25 February, and since it's a full-day affair, you'll want to clear your calendar for the day.
