Free three-hour herb immersion on juniper with drawing, reflection, tea tasting and medicine making at Grass Roots Remedies Co-operative.
Grass Roots Remedies Co-operative are running a session on juniper at Lauriston Agroecology Farm on Wednesday 18 November. It's part of Our Plant Allies; 13 Moons, a series of immersions they're hosting at the farm, which overlooks the Firth of Forth and focuses on one herb a month.
The session runs for three hours, and the format is built around taking your time with the plant. There's non-cognitive time to just be with it — drawing, sitting, reflecting and tending — and space to tune into the nature around you. That's followed by a community tea tasting where everyone shares their direct experiences, and medicine making with the plant. You'll leave with a deeper connection to yourself and to the plant ally, a medicine you've made from it, and your own drawings, reflections or other creations.

It's run by Grass Roots Remedies Co-operative, and the farm setting means you're working with the plant in its own element rather than in a classroom. The session runs from 2:30pm to 5:30pm, and there's free parking available on site. If you're coming from the city, it's at Lauriston Agroecology Farm, Cramond Road South, Edinburgh EH4 6HS.
