Over-18s planetarium show pairing Pink Floyd's 1973 album 'The Dark Side of the Moon' with 360-degree Solar System visuals and surround sound.
Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon is back at Dynamic Earth this October, running from the 22nd to the 24th. It's part of the Planetarium Lates series, so it's an over-18s night. There's a second run later in the year, from 19 to 21 December, so you've got two chances to catch it if the October dates don't work.
It's not a live tribute concert. Instead, the show pairs the full 1973 album with 360-degree Solar System visuals and surround sound that fills the planetarium's full-dome screen. You're listening to the record from start to finish while the imagery wraps around you, rather than watching a band on stage. Dynamic Earth bills it as a way to experience the album more than half a century after it first came out, and the planetarium setting is a good fit for the space themes that run through the music.
Because it's a Planetarium Late, there are a few things to keep in mind before you book. It's for over-18s only, and seating is unallocated, so you'll pick your own spot on the night. There's also a strict latecomer policy, which means if you arrive after it's started, you might not get in. It's worth getting there a bit early to make sure you're settled before the first notes hit.
