Edinburgh alternative rock band Picture The Scene play a headline show at The Mash House, with support from Ria Rua and Tyrants.
Picture The Scene headline The Mash House on Friday 16 October, with support from Ria Rua and Tyrants. The night is presented by Regular Music.
Picture The Scene is an Edinburgh alternative rock project that started as a studio venture between musician Lewis Speirs and collaborator Ben Smith. They debuted in 2020 with a self-titled EP, which set out a sound built on driving guitars, gritty vocals and melodic hooks. Since then, it's grown from a studio concept into a live act, and they've kept a fiercely independent approach to the Scottish music scene. Their sound sits across modern alternative rock, indie punk and classic rock-and-roll, and they've built a reputation for raw energy and a DIY ethos.

Their live sets range from blistering, fast-paced rock to softer, piano-led ballads, and their writing pairs heavy riffs with emotionally charged lyrics. The headline slot at The Mash House will pull from that same range, with Ria Rua and Tyrants opening the night. The venue is at 37 Guthrie Street, Edinburgh EH1 1JG, and doors open at 19:00. Tickets are £13.75 including fees, with a face value of £12.50.
