Fun, friendly outdoor fitness classes for people aged 60 and over, using bodyweight exercises and led by coach Jane Walker.
Jane Walker is running outdoor fitness classes for the over-60s at Corstorphine Cougars RFC, with sessions on Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29 October, both from 11am to midday. The classes are held at The Pavilion, Carrick Knowe Pkwy, Edinburgh West EH12 7EE.
Walker is an experienced coach who describes the sessions as fun and friendly, designed for anyone aged 60 and over. The whole thing is built around bodyweight exercises, so there's no equipment to worry about and everyone works to their own level. That's the practical side of it, but the social side is just as big a part of the morning — it's as much about the chat and the company as it is about the fitness.
Because the exercises rely on your own body weight, you can scale things up or down to suit where you are. It's not about keeping pace with the person next to you; it's about doing what works for you, which makes it a good fit whether you're already active or just getting back into things. The outdoor setting adds to that, too — it's a bit more open and relaxed than a gym floor.

Both sessions run from 11am to midday, so you're in and out before lunch. The cost is £50 for all the October sessions, and you'll find Jane Walker leading the way at Corstorphine Cougars RFC, The Pavilion, Carrick Knowe Pkwy, Edinburgh West EH12 7EE.
