OffSec UK's inaugural community meetup with a 60-minute introduction to hardware hacking by Keiran Smith, followed by discussions on offensive security.
OffSec UK is launching its first-ever meetup at Bar 50 on Monday 26 October, starting at 18:00. It's the inaugural gathering for the OffSec UK community, which they're aiming at practitioners from across the UK working in red teaming, exploit development and reverse engineering, as well as people just starting their OffSec journey. If you're in that world, it's a good chance to get in on the ground floor of a new community.
Keiran Smith leads the night with a 60-minute introduction to the basics of hardware hacking. He'll be walking through dumping firmware over UART and then analysing that firmware, so it's a practical look at the early stages of getting into a device. After the session, the evening opens up into wider discussions on offensive security practices, which is where the meetup side of things really kicks in—talking shop with other people working in the same field.
